Position: PostDoc

Requirements:
• PhD in Earth Sciences, Biology or related
• Knowledge of peatland ecology, palaeoecology
• Experience in fieldwork in peatland and willingness to participate in fieldwork carried out in Siberia's bogs
• Experience in palaeoecological research techniques, especially the analysis of shell amoebas, the stratigraphy of peatlands, plant macrofossils
• Scientific achievements in the form of publications and conference reports.
• Fluency in the use of written and spoken English.
• Independence, high motivation to work, ability to solve problems.
• Ability to work in a group.
• The candidate must meet the criteria set out in the terms of the OPUS competition

Description of tasks:
Recruitment for a post-doc position in the project: Critical points in the boreal peat bog ecosystems and the perennial permafrost in West Siberia in the conditions of a global climate crisis and increasing fire risk (PEATFLAMES), NCN OPUS 2021/41 / B / ST10 / 00060.

We are looking for a motivated associate for a post-doc at the Laboratory of Climate Change Ecology, Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences of the University of Adam Mickiewicz, in the OPUS project financed by the National Science Center. The successful candidate will analyze shell amoebas from West Siberian peat cores.

• Full-time employment contract for 36 months
• Salary approx. PLN 10,000 / month gross
